WP3 - Assessment by and support to project’s end-users - EUCLID EU-CHINA Lever for IPM Demonstration

Led by AgriNewTech and Imperial College London

WP3 analyses the benefits of the pest management solutions developed or adapted in WP1 and WP2 and their potential for being included in newly designed IPM packages.

Through a bottom-up approach, the analysis developed by farmers, advisers, businesses and other operational groups selected for their knowledge of the European and Chinese market is fed back to researchers in WP1 and WP2 to fine tune the proposed solutions. This knowledge exchange generates new insights and ideas while speeding knowledge towards practical and innovative solutions.

Only the most optimised methods developed through this iterative approach is combined into IPM packages to be tested in the field demonstrations activities (WP4).

Questionnaire for consumers

Consumer’s perception and orientation for agricultural products grown according to Integrated Pests Management (IPM) methods

The questionnaire aims at collecting information on consumers’ habits and their disposition to fruits and vegetables grown using IPM (Integrated Pests Management) methods. The information collected will contribute to understand and define strategies on how to promote IPM among consumers.

The questionnaire is anonymous. The data collected here will be handled in compliance with privacy laws and will be used only in the framework of EUCLID research activity.

IPM Package Assessment Tool

EUCLID aims to improve the performance of management measures for a diverse set of pests and pathogens in three important commodities (grapes, leafy vegetables and tomatoes). A total of 280 established and novel pest management measures are under consideration for inclusion in IPM packages to control up to 26 pest/pathogens across these commodities.
